Scheduled for Summer 2018 completion, the redesign of the historic Hotel Paso del Norte will highlight local materials such as copper, brass and deep burnished leathers to create the traditional robust atmosphere of the city’s rich history. The use of local natural materials, such as worn rough wood finishes, will be used to offset the burnished metals set alongside charcoal gray and deep dark brown colors of the red Ochre colors surrounding the Franklin Mountains.
Upon entering the hotel, guests will immediately notice the enhancement of ornate plaster details to the luxurious Tiffany-style, stained-glass dome. In addition to full renovation of the 356 room hotel, the restoration will encompass the revival of the original 10th-floor. The rooftop ballroom will be accompanied by a lavish full-service spa, state-of-the-art gym, bar lounge, restaurant, and a pool lounge area. Views from the 10th-floor terrace will overlook panoramic views of the Franklin Mountains, the historic Rio Grande and the Mexican border.
The hotel’s historic lobby area will extend outdoors to offer an outdoor sitting area for alfresco dining underneath a canopied fountain courtyard. Once completed, Hotel Paso del Norte will serve as an ideal convention hotel for events at the El Paso Convention Center located just steps away from the hotel.
The crown jewel of the Southwest to be restored to its former grandeur and become a premier convention hotel in downtown El Paso.
