With a distinguished career spanning more than 50 years, Stuart Meyers has created a legacy of excellence. He has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s most influential real estate developers having had a broad and material impact on both the Florida and West Texas real estate markets. His real estate experience includes developing or renovating hi-rise condominiums, townhomes, market rate and affordable rental apartments, commercial developments and hotels.
Mr. Meyers has founded three separate real estate businesses during his long career including The Related Companies Florida Low Income Tax Credit Housing Development Group in the 1980’s, The Cornerstone Group in the 1990’s, and The Meyers Group in 2015. He has planned, directed, and implemented the successful combination of Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits and the Florida State Apartment Incentive Loan program. Together these two programs have been jointly used to finance and complete Mr. Meyers’ developments at both Related and Cornerstone of over 20,000 rental units in 70 different communities. As a result, he has been responsible for securing more than $1 Billion in debt and equity financing to support those projects.
Cornerstone Group is one of the nation’s largest fully integrated residential real estate firms providing development, construction and property management services for condominiums and both market rate and affordable rental housing communities throughout the State of Florida. In 2004 Cornerstone was recognized as the eighth largest multi-family developer in the United States. And since 2015 Meyers Group has become a leader in market rate luxury rental properties, historic hotel renovations, and major mixed use projects.
Mr. Meyers is a native of Port Chester, New York and currently resides in Aventura, Florida. He holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and CPA Certification from New York State. He has two children and five grandchildren. His many philanthropic and community interests are carried out by The Stuart I Meyers Family Foundation.
